My Most Used Baby Item

Today, there are thousands of different baby items out there. So many choices that most moms-to-be are so overwhelmed they don’t even know where to start. Questions like “do I really need this for a baby?” or “will my baby like this?” and “which type, brand, etc should I choose?” are going through minds of all moms looking at items to put on a registry or browsing items for their new baby.

For me, there is one single item that has been used more than anything besides the obvious crib or car seat. My babywearing devices have been my most used item especially as a mom of two! I personally have and love the Tula brand. I had a standard Tula with my first and then bought two additional Tula’s, a Tula Free to Grow and a Tula Explore when I had my second child.
My Tula is used every single day. From when we are out and about at the zoo, museum, etc. or around the house when I’m trying to get dinner ready, to when I’m trying to get my baby to sleep for a nap while keeping the toddler out of trouble I wear my baby in one of my Tula’s.
For her, it’s a safe space where she feels relaxed and comfortable pressed against my body. It helps her calm down and also helps get her body to a state of mind that allows her to drift to sleep. It’s a safe place that can really go anywhere I do which is very convenient when we are away from home and she is overwhelmed and tired.
It’s also the number one reason I’ve felt success in taking care of two kids. I can be present for my very clingy three year old who doesn’t want to be more than a few feet away let alone in a different room than me while babywearing my youngest. I can try to meet both of their needs: get one to sleep and play or keep close to the other.
So my advice for any mom looking at baby items. There are a million different items out there. You don’t need much to be honest to raise a kid but you do need tools that will help you be the best mom you can be. For me, it’s the Tula, as I often wouldn’t survive a day without one.
